Mary Lengel earned her master’s degree in special education from Kansas State University. She holds California credentials in several academic subjects, special education and administration. She began her career as a teacher and has more than 25 years of experience in the field of education. Mary has taught all grade levels (K-12) of students with varying disabilities, including students with emotional disturbances, learning disabilities, moderately/severely handicapped and young adults with autism. She has also held several administrative and management positions throughout her career; education coordinator, regional director and director of educational services. Her true educational passions include implementation of intervention programs for special needs learners and assessing student progress to inform instruction. She has presented on numerous educational topics at state and national conferences and currently serves as vice president of curriculum and instruction for Spectrum Center.
