Jimmy is a third grade student who started attending Spectrum Center a little more than a year ago. Jimmy received placement at Spectrum through the IEP process, in consultation with his home district. In his time with us, Jimmy has responded very positively to the ABA strategies implemented at Spectrum – and has made significant strides in managing and reducing the behavioral challenges that were keeping him from gaining as much as possible from his education.
According to his family and teachers, Jimmy is currently doing better now at Spectrum, than at any other time in his total school experience. Jimmy’s parent shared their thoughts with us:
“The experience and abilities that the Spectrum Valley staff has applied towards addressing Jimmy’s [challenges and behaviors] surpasses those that he would otherwise be receiving in a traditional district placement. I attribute Jimmy’s success directly to the quality and thoroughness of the Spectrum personnel and program that he is involved in, and I can say unequivocally that if his placement were anything other than Spectrum, I [think] that his ability to access his education would be [severely compromised].
If other parents and students are receiving the same level of instruction that my child is – and I can only imagine they are – then I assure you there are many, many other people that feel just as strongly as I do that Spectrum Center is helping kids receive the education they are entitled to.”
