Connor R. was a student in our functional skills program. He attended Spectrum Long Beach until he was 18 years old and has since started an adult transition program with the district.
In his years with Spectrum, Connor improved his reading, communication, and math skills which were fundamental areas that improved his overall independence.
In addition, Connor learned more appropriate strategies to manage frustration towards peers. By the time Connor left Spectrum, he was preparing his meals independently, creating a budget, learning to navigate bus routes, and absolutely excelling in all academic areas.
We were so proud of all the self-management skills Connor had learned during his time at Spectrum and know he will be using them in the next phase of his education.
