Spectrum Center recently participated in the annual EdRev Conference in San Francisco. Parents Education Network (PEN) organizes this event for parents and educators of students in special education.

Activities included a technology exhibit and demonstration; a keynote by Max Brooks, author of World War Z; educational workshops that covered a variety of topics; and a student art gallery.

Spectrum Center EdRev Booth

This year, Spectrum participated by hosting a booth at the school fair. Throughout the day, we had the opportunity to speak with many interested parents and educators, many of whom were not aware of state-certified nonpublic schools like ours, which are designed to meet the behavioral needs of special needs students.

For the second year, Valley students’ artwork was showcased in the EdRev art gallery. Students created both individual and classroom group art projects that were included in the visual art section. Valley students attended the event and saw their artwork displayed among the many incredible entries.

We’ll participate again next year, and we encourage our students’ parents to join us in 2017 for this great opportunity to be educated about the opportunities that exist for students in special education as well as learn from students, educators, and parents who have experienced success.
