Program Director Spotlight
I am Raj Naicker Program Director at Spectrum Redding campus in Redding California, and this is my first year with Spectrum and I am so excited to join Spectrum in April 2024. I have been an educator for the last 28 years – 20 years as a classroom teacher and the last 8 years as a school administrator. My background is in Education, Science, School Leadership and administration. As a teacher I have taught AP Physics, Regular Physics, Chemistry and all areas in Mathematics – Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, Statistics, business Math and Calculus. I have also served as Vice Principal and School Principal in various schools in Northern California. I have taught in the Fiji Islands, New Zealand and California. As a school administrator, I have worked extensively with our special education department to ensure we are making a difference in student lives. I first became interested in the Special Education field when I discovered that my own daughter has special needs. She is currently in 11th grade and has been receiving services since grade 7. I am thankful for the great work her teachers and support staff provided her with since we discovered she had a learning disability.
Throughout my career, I have consistently shown dedication to student success, a collaborative, facilitative and inclusive approach to leadership, and a passion for creating a safe, positive school culture and environment. I love building strong relationships with all key stakeholders – teachers, parents, students and the community. My vision is to be deeply invested in our students and teachers and give my unwavering commitment to serving our students and making a difference in their lives. We will provide programs that meet the academic, physical, social, behavioral and emotional needs of every student so they can be successful in their life. I will collaborate with all stakeholders to determine the best teacher, placement and program for each student. We will also use an array of technology to support student learning. In addition, I will ensure staff are continuously trained to provide differentiated instruction based on each student’s unique needs.
I am looking forward to working closely with our teachers, students, families, school districts and all support staff to meet the individual needs of our students in Spectrum Redding.
