Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology
Masters in Education: Differentiated Instruction
Board Certified Behavior Analyst
My name is April Torres and I am excited to work with the Spectrum team, parents and community in providing quality educational services to the students of Fresno and Clovis, Ca.
I have been in the field of community services and education for over 25 years. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology with a Victimology Option and used this education to provide services to victims of domestic violence in Fresno County. After years of servicing this population, I decided to focus on children in the educational system. I earned a Multiple Subject Credential and later a Designated Subject Credential in Criminal Justice. I taught for several years until I later earned a Master’s in Education Degree with an emphasis in Best Practices and Differentiated Instruction. This is where I fell in love with the delivery of individualized curriculum and instruction for children on the spectrum. I wanted to focus on this population and helping to improve their educational experience, so I returned to school to earn a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst Certificate.
With my education and experience, I have decided to dedicate myself to improving the lives of all children through quality education. I truly believe each child deserves to be taught at their level regardless of barriers.
