Hello,
I am Dr. Maureen Powers, and I am excited to join Spectrum Center Schools and Programs as the Program Director at the Antioch campus. My passion for learning and creating quality educational programs has led me to this point and I couldn’t be happier
I look forward to working alongside our staff, parents, and district partners to create the best learning and growing experiences for our students. Program Director Spotlight
- Ed.D., Doctorate of Education
Dr. Powers has many years of experience in education working as a special education teacher, administrator, education consultant, and college faculty member. She has a strong passion for learning and creating quality educational programs. She considers herself a ‘people person’ who enjoys developing relationships.
In her personal life, she is a mother and stepmother to seven wonderful children plus one bonus child, her niece. They are all between the ages of 23 and 30, with a set of identical twins taking up the rear. One of her greatest joys has been watching them unfold their wings and make their mark on the world.
In her free time, Dr. Powers enjoys hiking, kayaking, creating stained glass art, and writing. She and her husband escape as often as possible in their camper, exploring the woods and beaches of California.
