Welcome to Long Beach – Hoover Middle School
Welcome to Spectrum Center Long Beach! Our unique, collaborative model provides students with numerous resources to succeed both academically and behaviorally. Partnering with Long Beach Unified School District and located on 4 of their main campuses, Spectrum serves students grades K-12+ within either an academic or functional skills model.
Our Functional Skills program transforms in-class curriculum into practical community learning opportunities. In our Academic classrooms, you’ll see smaller class sizes, allowing a more focused approach to addressing the social/ emotional needs of our students. All Spectrum staff is fully trained in Applied Behavior Analysis enabling them to work with students towards decreasing inappropriate behaviors and promoting independence. We collectively ensure IEP goals are targeted through naturalistic teaching methods and maintain a dynamic environment for all our students in which to participate.
Spectrum Long Beach takes pride in motivating students to reach their fullest academic, social, and behavioral potential.
If you are interested in our campus, we are more than happy to set up a tour or answer any questions that you may have!
Sincerely,
April Acuna, M.Ed, BCBA
