Area of Specialty: Early childhood development, program development and marketing
Why did you get into teaching? I’ve been in the field of education for 28 years, early in my career; I chose to teach because I enjoy interacting with children in the classroom environment. It is rewarding to see children excel as they develop greater independence socially and academically.
Why did you choose special education? I have come full circle. I began my teaching career in special education, went on to early childhood education with typically developing children and have now returned to special education. I guess working with students who have special needs has always appealed to me.
What keeps you motivated? The students, the staff and the challenge of successfully running 5 schools and collaborative programs.
