Did you know?

Federal law mandates that all students are guaranteed a free and appropriate education. When a student’s needs aren’t being met in their current educational environment, you and representatives from your child’s home school district should work together to determine the next step.

When is Spectrum the right choice?

We’re ready to help with any challenge, and urge you to call us:
  • If behavior prevents your child–or those around him or her-from learning.
  • If your child shows a significant lack of progress in academics or behavior.
  • If your child is isolated, minimally interactive, or destined to be placed in a more restrictive setting.

Our ultimate goal is to transition your child back to the home school as soon as possible. To that end, we work closely with school administrators and special education directors, shaping our services to meet the distinct requirements of their districts. We can provide short-or long-term placement, depending the needs of your family and the needs of the school. And throughout your child’s Spectrum experience, we welcome and encourage administrators at the home school to stay involved, inviting their participation in IEP meetings and keeping them informed through quarterly progress reports.

Collaborative classrooms

In some cases, we can serve special needs students from within their home school, working alongside the district’s speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists. These collaborative classrooms help districts conserve capital resources while continuing to provide a high level of service for the rest of student body.
