What is an IEP?
An Individualized Education Plan (IEP) is a written document that describes an educational plan for a student with a disability. Students’ IEPs describe their disability, what skills they need to learn, what they will accomplish during school the year, what services the school will provide, and where learning will take place.
IEP reviews
The law requires an annual review and revision of your child’s IEP. However, if you or the home school representative believe that the IEP needs more frequent evaluation, you can arrange more IEP meetings. These meetings allow you to discuss alternative educational options with the child’s teachers, therapists, counselors, and (possibly) school principal.
