History

For more than 30 years, Spectrum Center Schools and Programs have helped students with differing abilities advance educationally, behaviorally and socially. We help districts serve a wider variety of students with special needs within a least restrictive environment (LRE) in Spectrum Center school sites and a public school district sites.

Since it was established in 1975, Spectrum has continually evolved to meet the needs of our growing student populations. Spectrum is known for the quality of our researched-based, data-driven programs, and has developed partnerships among families, school districts and communities in order to share the knowledge gained through our work with students who have challenging educational and behavioral needs.

Our cost-effective partnerships with school districts have helped provide free appropriate public education (FAPE) for students whose educational and/or behavioral needs could not be met in general education or special day classes.

Known for the quality of its research-based, data-driven programs, Spectrum Center is a member of the California Association of Private Special Education Schools (CAPSES), and individual Spectrum Center locations are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
